The House of Moses is our internationally-recognized crisis nursery for orphaned and abandoned babies in Lusaka.
We call the House of Moses and ‘Bill and Bette’ our crisis nurseries, not orphanages, because no baby or child is meant to stay with us forever. Instead, we intend for every baby and child in our care to belong in their own permanent, secure, and loving family.
OUR CRISIS NURSERIES
Our crisis nurseries comprise part of our Child Welfare program. Babies and children experience physical and emotional safety with us while our social workers restore them to family through reintegration, in-country fostering, and adoption.
THE HOUSE OF MOSES
Since 2001, the House of Moses has rescued over 700 orphaned and abandoned babies.
Surrounded by tall pines and jacaranda trees, the House of Moses is our crisis nursery for orphaned and abandoned babies up to age two.
Babies have a warm bed, nourishing milk, and soft clothing. Our small team of trained caregivers provide them with consistency, safety, and loving attention. When the weather is nice, babies crawl and toddle through the soft grass in the yard beside a beautiful mural of the Peaceable Kingdom.
‘BILL AND BETTE’ CRISIS NURSERY
Since 2003, Bill and Bette has provided 350 children with emergency shelter, crisis care, and education.
Bill and Bette Bryant Crisis Nursery is a temporary home for orphaned and abandoned children ages two to six.
At ‘Bill and Bette’ children attend daily classes in an on-campus classroom. They play outside on the spacious lawn, playground, and swings. And during prayer time, children recite a promise that is theirs to keep forever: “I love Jesus, and Jesus loves me.”
Our therapists and caregivers help children heal from abandonment trauma and prepare for reintegration, fostering, or adoption into permanent families.
